We are a family of three and make wholesome videos of our travels to memorialize and educate our son (and others) through exposure to real life adventures starting in 2022. We also know how much time, money, and effort it is to travel especially with a little one and have been fortunate enough through real estate to be able to afford these adventures, so we want to share them with all of you: parents, busy adventurers, weekend warriors, aspiring travelers, etc. We share tips on destinations, food, toddler travels, RVing, etc.
Then in 2023, we got the dreaded news that Jay-Son had cancer. Obviously this put a crimp on things to put it mildly. It's been a long journey filled with ups and downs but we're still here. Spending time together is even more important than it was 2 years ago. And we share our adventures with you today in the hopes that it will inspire all of you to spend quality time with the ones you love. Hope you enjoy our adventures.
This is Jackson, aka Jack Jack, Son, Booboo, Baby (though trying to not use that anymore as he grows up). He is the main character of this adventure and our pride and joy. He is our "WHY?" for #thelowmads.
This is Jenny, aka Mommy, Mama, Bab-E. She is the love interest of the story and the one who is taking most of the action shots behind the camera.
This is Jay-Son, aka Daddy, Papa, Loh Gong. He is the best supporting actor and the driver of the RV.
This is George, aka 2019 Forest River Georgetown 30x3. George is our rig, powered by a Ford V10 and measuring 31 ft. 11 in. long, 8 ft. 6 in. wide, 12 ft. 2 in. high, and weighing in at 18,000 lbs. Let's get ready to rumble!
This is Willy. He is a 2022 4-door Jeep Wrangler Willy's Edition. He is our Toad (Tow Vehicle) and has been outfitted with a LOD Destroyer Full Width flat towing capable bumper with a Blue Ox adapter to fit our Blue Ox Tow Setup.
This was Jackson's Stormtrooper. He is a 2018 Tesla Model X that was purchased in December 2018 and traded in on March 2022 for George and Willy. He took it like a champ, and we will one day meet again (possibly in the form of a Cybertruck).
When Jay-Son first came up with the idea of going on an extended RV tour of the continental United States in February of 2022, he of course first asked his wife, Jenny, and to his surprise she said, "It's always been my dream to travel [full time]...so SURE!" Fast forward one month, an RV was purchased and #thelowmads became a thing.
The obvious question from family and friends was/is "Why?" Well...there are a few reasons, but it boils down to TIME.
If nothing else, the past two years of dealing with COVID has taught us that the most important thing in this lifetime is the relatively short time we have to spend with loved ones and that one (or two) year(s) of stopping to smell the roses isn't the end of the world. With Jackson getting to school age, our dedicated time with him may be reduced to what one of our best friends said, "We really only have 18 summers with our kids." No, we have as much time as we make it, and fortunately, we have been blessed to financially be able to take a sabbatical from what we all call "life."
We initially wanted to document our adventure on YouTube so that family and friends can follow our adventure privately, and more importantly, so that we can cherish these memories with our son for a lifetime and beyond with future generations. But now we have decided to make it public to inspire others to make memories with their loved ones and to make their dreams, whatever it is, come true. Hope you enjoy #thelowmads !
Other reasons:
1) To reconnect with each other and with friends/family, with nature, art, music, etc.
2) To see America
3) To recharge mentally and physically
Edit:
In 2023, Jay-Son was diagnosed with Lymphoma, a blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. This diagnosis made "Our Why" even more apparent. Time truly is only our most valuable asset.
